Hello traders, back again with writing some posts here and there. Been off for 6 months, had stuff to take care of but will try to be more consistent. You know what they say, life happens, you slowly drift away from your dreams and get sucked into the adult life.
Over the past few weeks, I came to “realize” how important it is to be in control of your time and money. I have always been the entrepreneur type, starting different ventures/side hustles here and there but never fully went all-in and commit as if it was my last and only option.
Let’s face it, when you’ve spent more than +10 years in school, eventually you get dragged in and you end up following the crowd. However, recently I had a chat with a few executives/friends and I noticed an expression which took a new sense, now that I’ve gained much more maturity and wisdom on a professional level.
Ever heard the expression “Don’t bite the hand that feeds you”? I am sure by now, you, the reader, have heard it before and probably more than once. Now, here’s the twist, this expression implies that you are in a position where you have to rely on someone else to “feed” you in order to live the next day and that without this “guaranteed” input, you wouldn’t be able to last on your own.
Hold on, I gave it some serious thoughts over the past few weeks and something didn’t seem right. If the above is true, instead of being the person who’s getting fed, why not be the one who feeds others and help them out? You have 2 options here, why do most people choose the latter when the first option, being able to take care of your people and giving to others is also a possibility? Sometimes I feel stupid for not having thought about this before.
So after thinking about this for a very long time, I think the realization that the above can be done, made me seriously wonder about my future and what I wanted to do in my life. I’m not meant to work in an office for the next 20-25 years, that is just too painful to think about. Can you imagine spending your life devoted to work on tasks/things that won’t even make you happy on your deathbed? Sure if you put your all into it, you’d probably climb up the corporate ladder, get promotions, get bonuses, etc. but in reality, all this is just a scam that society eventually agreed as a normal thing to do and now people don’t even think twice about what they want to do with their life. Ask 100 people what they want to do, I can almost guarantee that +80% of them will choose a path which doesn’t answer to their own “dream life”.
I’ve thus decided to embark on a journey of being my own person, make my own choices and live life like I want to. It doesn’t make sense to wait for somebody to give you the green light to level up when you can just do it yourself without the need of approval from others. Why wait for someone to say “Alright, you’ve done good work, you spent x numbers of years doing this, I think you can do other stuff now”. What a bunch of BS.
If you know yourself, know your strengths and weaknesses, you should move at your own pace. Unless your goal is really to move up the corporate ladder, I now strongly believe that, even if your boss/es are well-intentioned, they are in fact hindering your progress and preventing you from achieving a level of success they, themselves, couldn’t even imagined being possible.
My goal in life is now to be able to quite the corporate lifestyle within the next 2 years, build my own streams of income, thanks to the internet, and just enjoy myself whenever I want to. Just look up on YouTube how all types of people are making a shitload of money at the tip of their fingers, while the average Joe will spend their lifetime saving up some money so they can barely retire and survive once the hand that feeds them is gone.
The internet is truly a miracle and probably the 11th Wonder of the World. It holds all and any information you need to start your own side hustles. Whether you need information for school or even how to peel an apple, it’s all there and free. So… Unless you are mentally disabled, anyone can turn their life around and make moves accordingly. Sure it might require more time for some, maybe some upfront money to get you started but the point is, if you don’t know something, just google it, apply what you’ve learned, try and test and eventually you will have your own breakthrough and the rest will be history.
Now, of course it is much easier said than done BUT, again, these days, anyone can make money/achieve their goals if that is what they wish for and ready to put in the work. So I have decided that from now on, I must spend at least 2hrs a day building my side hustles until the day where I make enough to comfortably support myself, others and have enough cash around for any types of emergencies. Life is also unpredictable, every person should have at least 6 months of financial security net for when shit goes wrong.
So there you have it, I must use and apply strict discipline for next two years, work on my side hustles everyday and I am sure within 2 years or less I will be at a level I didn’t think could be done. My 2 main side hustles am currently working on are Forex/Stocks trading and setting up my own digital marketing agency in which I would specialize in Search Engine Optimization.
For both of these ventures, most of the workload can be heavily offloaded by using automation software AND you can scale these up worldwide whenever you want. Less expenses, improved productivity and efficiency, increased profitability.
Alright, it is almost 8PM as I am writing this, I have to go to some Asian restaurant, order my regular items before they stop their service at 9PM then comeback and put in my 2 hours before midnight.
To be continued…
